A little more about us...

Woodfield Ecology is an independent ecological consultancy, based in Cornwall. We provide expert, practical and cost-effective ecological advice and services to our clients in the south-west as well as throughout the UK.

We can undertake ecological surveys and assessments for habitats and flora, bats, dormice, badgers, reptiles, great crested newts, barn owls, water voles and otters. We can also arrange and co-ordinate surveys for all other UK protected or notable species through our network of licensed and qualified associates.

We can assist at all stages of a project, from initial inception and masterplanning through to detailed design, planning and ecological supervision of construction.

Prior to setting up Woodfield Ecology in 2013, Becky worked for a number of different ecology and environmental companies across the UK and gained a wide range of experience covering all aspects of ecological consultancy.

Becky is a skilled field ecologist and carries out a broad range of flora and faunal field surveys. She regularly carries out large scale habitat assessments and detailed botanical surveys and is a licenced surveyor for bats, dormice, great crested newts and barn owls. She is also experienced in carrying out surveys for otters, water voles and a range of notable mammals including brown hares and hedgehogs. Becky has prepared ecological assessments and advice for developments of all scales, from concept planning, assisting with project delivery through to the post-planning and construction phases.

Outside of ecology, Becky’s interests also include Cornish pilot gig rowing, kayaking, hiking and cycling and just about anything that involves being in the great outdoors!

Ollie joined Woodfield Ecology in 2017, after having worked for and run a number of ecological consultancies for over 15 years previously.

Ollie has a wide range of ecological experience ranging from co-ordinating and undertaking habitat and faunal field surveys, GIS and mapping, preparing ecological assessments, providing input to development masterplans and landscape designs as well as giving ecological support through the post-planning and construction phases. Ollie’s project experience includes large and small scale road schemes, residential/commercial/retail developments (urban redevelopment and greenfield sites), river edge restoration, windfarms and production of guidance documents.

When not out in the field or behind the desk, Ollie enjoys kayaking, hiking and cycling and spends much of his time renovating old buildings and managing our small holding.
